Claims automation approach

Overview

My first assignment in logistics at Beltmann was to write a claims policy. I successfully delivered the policy and later built automated claims functionality into my first transportation management system as a backend feature.

The Context

My first assignment in logistics at Beltmann was to write a claims policy — a foundational document defining how the business would handle freight claims.

My Contribution

I successfully delivered the policy and later built automated claims functionality into my first transportation management system as a backend feature.

The Approach

Started by understanding the business process deeply enough to define its rules in writing. Then translated those rules into software — building automated claims functionality into a transportation management system as a backend feature.

The Significance

This was an early foundation for my approach to product: understand the business process, define the rules, and translate them into software.
